
Alice Cutler Clarke
Alice is passionate about preventing harm and abuse and brings a wealth of experience in strategic and people management, partnership working, campaigning, and safeguarding to the Kindling team. She became a permanent member of staff in October 2023 and is our safeguarding lead.
Alice has been project managing our national pilot Lead the Change Wales, and for Northumbria OPCC. She has also helped to develop Intercultural Competency and challenging racism and discrimination in the NHS, and the Transformative Conversations Work.
Alice’s career includes a decade working in the refugee sector. She was Head of Services at Bristol Refugee Right and Safeguarding Lead for Adults and Child Protection deputy and lead. She won the Golden Key Award for working with people with multiple complex needs in 2020.
Passionate about early intervention to prevent harm and abuse, Alice achieved an MSc in Public Health with distinction in 2023. Her MSc research considered the role of trauma-informed practice in reducing health inequalities for people seeking asylum. She is an Associate Lecturer at UWE on this topic and designed and delivers training in trauma-informed facilitation.
